Ecclesholme Summer Fair

The fair was officially opened by the Provincial Grand Master of East Lancashire, Bro. Jack Price, who was accompanied by his wife Dorothy.

The Chairman of the Association of Friends, W.Bro. Ernest Daniel of the Wigan Group officially welcomed him and his wife, and presented

Mrs Price with a beautiful floral arrangement. Assistants and their wives and families supported theevent along with District and Group Chairmen,

and every Group and District had representativesattending.

Our thanks should also be extended to the lodges and chapters of both East and West Lancashire Provinces who supported the event. Many members

and their families attended to make the day most memorable and profitable one.

The Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution had two directors in attendance and they were supportedby other R.M.B.I. employees. The success of the

event was due in the main to the Committee of the Association and the assistance of the Home Manager, Bev Niland and members of her staff.

Residents at the home attended the event and made the day a most memorable one.

All monies raised will be spent on "Garden Improvements" at the home. The stalls and takings on theday made in excess of £2,300, the proceeds

going to these improvements which start in three weekstime. East and West Lancashire Charities have each match funded £5,000 towards the £20,000

project and the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution have helped with a £5,000 funding as well. The shortfall will have to be found by the other means.

The Christmas Fair at Eccles Masonic Hall is to be held on Sunday 27th November, 2011 commencing at 2.00 p.m., when

The Provincial Grand Master of West Lancashire and his lovely wife Julie will officially open the fair.

Three weeks prior to the Christmas Fair the Association are to hold a "Thanks Giving Service"

at St Marks Church, at Worlsey on Sunday 6th November, 2011 at 2.00 p.m. to commemorate the 34 years of the existence of our Masonic home in Eccles,

which was officially opened  by the Duke of Kent in 1977. It is hoped that the service will be well attended by brethren from both East & West Lancashire.

Jack Price and his wife Dorothy have already intimated that they are looking forward to attending the service.
