Bikers do it for Macmillan
Chorley Mason Norman Corke is looking for bikers who can help the Macmillan Cancer Support Group between 27- 30 May 2011
Norman said the organisers are hoping that one hundred bikers will participate. The bikers will be travelling the roads of Northern England over four days,
raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support. The majority of the riders will be women, as one of the aims is to raise the profile of female bikers in the UK.
Since 2008 they have raised over £115,000.
They will be riding approximately one hundred miles a day, in ten groups of ten, to accommodate all rider abilities. Each group takes it in turn to collect for
Macmillan Cancer Support in towns along the route. There are places for twenty men to help with the physical tasks and back marker duties or to carry a pink lady pillion.
All men wear their own decorated green bra for Macmillan.
Anyone who would like to take part will be sent a registration and sponsor form plus a detailed itinerary. Registration is £12, a minimum sponsorship of £100 per
entrant has been decided this year to celebrate the centenary anniversary of Macmillan.
Fri 27 May - Man City FC to Lincoln, Sat 28 May - Lincoln to Whitby, Sun 29 May, Whitby to Carlisle, Mon 30 May - Carlisle to Blackpool.
