Slimline Tony by …..Sch….

When a close friend and work colleague of Tony Cole from Prospect Lodge No 7880 died from bowel cancer in St. Catherine’s Hospice earlier this

year, Tony learned that NHS funding for the Hospice was to be withdrawn and determined to do what he could in memory of his friend, Keith Holding.

To honour a promise to Keith’s widow, Joyce, he started a sponsored slim weighing in on second of June at 14 stones 1½ lbs. On 31st August

(which would have been Keith’s birthday) Tony weighed in again at 12 stones 7lbs – a loss of 22½ lbs.

Many of Tony’s friends, colleagues from Virgin Rail where he is a driver, and members of Prospect Lodge honoured pledges to raise a most

impressive sum of £1200 for the Hospice.

Well done, “Slimline” Tony – if anyone wants to know the secret of your success, make sure they pay for it!!!!

When Tony’s wife, Joanna, was asked how she thought Tony was after his massive weight loss, she said, “Not sure really – I don’t see much of him these days.”
