All hands to the pump at Rockhaven
The summer break not only delivered bad weather it proved a testing time for the members of Rockhaven Lodge No 7649.
During the summer the lodge secretary Derek Mason was poorly, the Master’s wife became ill and he had to withdraw and the lodge lost its
Director of Ceremonies and his assistant
So what to do? The answer of course was to ask the other Lodges in Ridgmont House for help and in true Masonic style the problem was solved
and the members of Rockhaven Lodge welcomed Philip Gunning as their principal guest to their installation meeting.
Dan Healey was installed in to the chair of King Solomon by David Worth who had been Immediate Past Master the previous year.
The ceremony was directed by Peter Schofield (Wilderswood Lodge) Peter was assisted by Bill Wilding (Borsdane Lodge).
Paul Hesketh Provincial Deputy Grand Director of Ceremonies (Lever Park Lodge) request special permission to take part in the ceremony.
The working tools were worked in an excellent manner. Master’s tools by Derek Mason, Master Masons by Paul (Ned) Taylor,
Fellow Craft by Peter Hannis (Lever Park Lodge) and Entered Apprentice by Ralph Vincent.
The address to the master was delivered by Mike Heather (Horwich Lodge), the address to the Wardens by Paul Hesketh (Lever Park Lodge)
and the address to the Brethren by Philip Gunning.
Philip congratulated every one who had taken part. Philip said this Installation showed that the tenets of the Craft were alive and well and that
when the chips are down it brings the best out in Masons.
