Please find below information about the recent break-in to the Masonic Hall Chorley

I believe entry was via the upstairs fire escape, by forcing the fire door with a jemmy.

Damage has been caused to Lodge cupboards, wands and the lewis in the Temple.

Stolen goods include swords and poignards and whisky from the bar.

They did not go downstairs, or if they did there are no signs of damage or theft.

The Hall Chairman gives assures that everything is in hand - police, insurance, security, etc

All damage is superficial and that normal Lodge business can continue, but until further notice all meetings will be in the downstairs

Lodge room as the upstairs fire escape is out of action.

This will be resolved by the end of the week (21/10/2011) I will advise as I receive more information.
