Chorley Group Autumn Golf Day

The Group Autumn Golf Day was once again held at Hart Common Golf Club.

On a calm, sunny afternoon the weather conditions were almost perfect. All who took part had a really enjoyable day on a testing golf course.

The winner of the main competition, the John Parkinson Rose Bowl, was Antony Price of Blainscough Lodge, a new member of the society.

His win was fully deserved with a magnificent back nine. Antony is quite a rising star as the previous week he had won the prize for driving nearest

to the pin at the Provincial Golf Competition.

David Norris of St George’s Lodge had a very steady round to finish in second place, being beaten only on a card count back.

Steve Booth of Tyldesley Lodge proved to be the most accurate player at the right times by winning both the longest drive and nearest the pin competitions.

The day ended with a convivial meal at the golf club, following which the Group Chairman and President of the Golf Society, John Robson, presented the prizes.
