Westhoughton Lodge Installation

Westhoughton Lodge No 4215 was honoured by the presence of Ian Higham the representative of the Provincial Grand Master.

Richard Timms was installed into the chair of King Solomon by Cyril Phelps in fine style. The proceedings were directed by Andy Wiltshire and

Stewart Rothwell as Director of Ceremonies and Assistant Director of Ceremonies respectively.

The address to the Master was worked by the uncle of the WM, David Phillips.

The working tools were presented with confidence by three junior Brethren: Neil Taylor presented the Master Mason’s Tools,

Mike Kenny presented the Fellow Craft and Jack Morton presented the Entered Apprentices.

Ian Higham congratulated everyone who had been involved in this excellent ceremony. He said that the work done by the three junior brethren

was impressive and the fact that all the progressive offices were in light blue was a testament to the health and future on the Lodge.

Ian thanked the Lodge for its very generous donations to charity of: West Lancashire Freemasons’ Charity £1250, Help the Heroes £350,

Ecclesholme £250, Birtenshaw School £200 and Cystic Fibrosis £100.

At the festive board Ian said that he had asked to attend Westhoughton Lodge as it had been his late Fathers Lodge and he was wearing his

Fathers watch for the occasion. He said he had personal knowledge, through his mother, of how well the lodge treats its widows.

He said he was very please to be able to represent at this fine Lodge which was going from strength to strength.
